For a quarter-century, Lynn Lyons-Wynne has championed the service and sacrifice of America’s public servants, first on Capitol Hill and, now with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. In 1978 she joined the staff of Congressman Mario Biaggi, who spearheaded the Congressional effort for the establishment of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. She remained on his staff for 11 years, until his retirement, when she joined the NLEOMF. As part of a Navy family, she left the organization two years later, relocating first to Newport, RI, and then to Naples, Italy, on military orders. While in Italy, she served as the Command Ombudsman for the Armed Forces Network Command in Southern Italy. Since her return to the NLEOMF in 1996, Ms. Lyons-Wynne has held several positions and currently serves as Senior Director for Memorial Programs. In that capacity she directs all activities that take place at the Memorial, including the confirmation of those officers killed in the line of duty whose names will be added to the Walls of Remembrance. She is responsible for the overall maintenance and care of the Memorial grounds and for the Memorial itself. Ms. Lyons-Wynne represents the NLEOMF on the National Police Week Committee and is the executive producer and director of the annual Candlelight Vigil and other special events throughout the year. Also under her direction are the NLEOMF Officer of the Month Program, which honors living officers who distinguish themselves through examplary service, and Officer Roll Call, a program designed to create a database of all law enforcement officers nationwide. Ms. Lyons-Wynne received a BA degree from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY, attended Columbia University and received her certification in Non-Profit Management from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the International Special Events Society.
