DEDICATED TO THE MUSEUM CAUSE: DUPONT COMMITS TO HELPING CONSTRUCT FACILITY
June 29, 2006

DuPont "Through our unique science and technology capabilities, DuPontTM has a long tradition of helping protect those who protect us. The construction of the National Law Enforcement Museum will honor the men and women who protect us every day, and who, in some cases, have given their lives so that we may live in a safer world."
- DuPontTM Chairman and CEO, Charles O. Holliday, Jr.

For more than 30 years, DuPontTM has worked closely with law enforcement officers through innovative products such as DuPontTM Kevlar®, the first high-performance fiber used in bullet-resistant body armor. This fiber is still the key component in many protective vests worn by officers today. DuPontTM also played a founding role in the creation of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)/DuPont Kevlar Survivors' Club® - a partnership dedicated to reducing death and disability among police officers by encouraging the use of personal body armor. Since its formation in 1987, the Survivors' Club has honored more than 3,000 officers who were spared serious or life-threatening injuries as a result of wearing bullet-resistant vests.

In keeping with the company's commitment to ensuring the safety of our everyday heroes, DuPontTM recently announced its commitment to provide a multi-faceted package of products, services, and financial support for the construction of the National Law Enforcement Museum.

"From the development of the Kevlar® fiber to its instrumental role in helping build the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, DuPontTM has demonstrated its commitment to the law enforcement community in a variety of important ways," said Chairman Craig W. Floyd. "We extend our sincere appreciation to DuPontTM for its many past contributions and its continuing interest in supporting law enforcement officers and their families."

Partnerships such as the one between NLEOMF and DuPontTM are essential to ensure that law enforcement's dedication to public safety is never taken for granted and that our nation never forgets those officers who made the supreme sacrifice.
