Law Enforcement Agency Brown Bag Lunch Series
Intended Audience: Museum volunteers, staff, and other law enforcement agency historians and record keepers/History and Museum Development/Call for information
Participants come together for lunch and conversation about law enforcement history, object based learning, and other content- and museum-related topics. The informal venue and relaxed atmosphere foster relationships between the Museum and other law enforcement agencies. Available now, no fee required.

Domestic Violence Awareness Program
Intended Audience: Professional Development for School Staff/Safety/Call for information
Teachers, school resource officers, counselors, nurses, and other school staff in Washington Metropolitan Area school systems will learn how to identify, address and support students who are living in a household with domestic violence. This program aims to raise awareness around domestic violence and to help school staff provide students with an outlet to get support and stay safe. Generously funded by the Verizon Foundation.

Witness to History Lecture Series
Intended Audience: Museum supporters, members of the public/History of Law Enforcement/RSVP when event is announced
This program focuses on significant events in law enforcement history, conveyed through the insights of those who witnessed them. Events may involve a lecture or panel discussion followed by question and answer opportunities for the audience.
   
Due to the popularity of Witness to History events and space limitations, those interested in attending must RSVP in advance to the reply contact provided in the event invitation/announcement. RSVPs will be accepted until the event is full. RSVPs will be honored on a first come, first served basis. Gleaning the Stories: Using the National Law Enforcement Museum Collection for Object Based Learning
Intended Audience: Educators/History, Social Studies and Object-Based Learning/Call to schedule
Middle school and high school teachers are challenged to think about how to use objects in the classroom to inspire students and promote critical thinking. Using a series of questions, participants will learn how to look at an artifact in a different way, gleaning both the obvious and the "hidden" information that help people understand its use, the society/culture that created it, and why all of that is important in understanding its significance. Available now, fee negotiable.

Behind the Scenes Program and Tour: Connecting with the National Law Enforcement Museum Collection
Intended Audience: Museum stakeholders/History and Object-Based Learning/National Law Enforcement Museum Off-site Storage Facility/Call to schedule
Participants experience the heart and soul of the Museum—its collection—during this behind-the-scenes tour and program at our off-site storage facility. They learn about the significance of the National Law Enforcement Museum collection, the importance of our role as its steward, and how essential a collection is for telling the story of American Law Enforcement. Available now, no fee required. Donations appreciated.
