Miranda Fill in the Blank Quiz

Miranda Mad Libs

You’ve probably heard the Miranda warning thousands of times. But how well do you really know it? It wasn’t until 1966 that the Supreme Court required law enforcement officers to advise suspects of their constitutional rights prior to questioning them.

Fill in the blanks below, and see if you would need to be warned of your rights.

The exact wording of the Miranda warning varies by jurisdiction. The words chosen above were inspired by a Lyndhurst (NJ) police officer’s card in the National Law Enforcement Museum’s collection. Officers will often carry a card like this in their pockets as a reminder of the warning they must recite when arresting someone.
