Description: Police Officer Wortham was shot and killed while leaving his parent's home. Officer Wortham was approached by four armed men that attempted to steal his motorcycle. Officer Wortham identified himself as a police officer, and drew his service weapon. The suspects then fatally shot and killed Officer Wortham. Officer Wortham's father, a retired Chicago police sergeant, exited the house and shot at the suspects, killing one and wounding another. The two other suspects fled, but were taken into custody the next day. Officer Wortham died the next day at a local hospital.
